Hi! I am Kelly Smith. I'm Children's Librarian Trainee at New York Public Library and graduate student at Pratt Institute. I will be obtaining a Masters in Library and Information Science this Spring 2020.

Growing up in New York City, I realized the importance of community at a young age. After-school programming and the public library were essential in my chilhood because these entities allowed me to acquire my own interests and learn in innovative ways. These same interests have stuck with me over the years and led me to my current position in youth services at New York Public Library (NYPL).

I currently reside in Harlem, NY and work with the children and families in the South Bronx, similar to the same neighborhoods I grew up in.
